Macarthur Sustainable Business Award 2010

Mowbray Park Farm has won the 2010 Macarthur Sustainable Business Award for excellence in environmental management.

Mowbray Park Farm is situated just 9 kms from Picton and is a working farm and farm stay where visitors can experience all aspects of country life.

The Macarthur Sustainable Business Award was presented to the owners of Mowbray Park Farm by MACROC President Cr Anoulack Chanthivong in the presence of some 200 people at the Macarthur Business Hall of Fame gala dinner held at Wests League Club on 29 September 2010.

MACROC President, Cr Chanthivong, said the Macarthur Sustainable Business Award is designed to showcase the exceptional environmental practices of business in the Macarthur region, mainly in the areas of water and energy efficiency, pollution control, waste management and the conservation of biodiversity.

“I would like to congratulate the owners of Mowbray Park Farm for the outstanding way in which they manage their environmental footprint. The practices that they have adopted are not only good for the environment but have also resulted in positive financial outcomes for the business,” said Cr Chanthivong.

“The environment is an important issue that business cannot afford to neglect and that is why MACROC continues to facilitate the adoption of sound environmental practices through its highly successful Symmetry Sustainable Business program. Mowbray Park participated in the Symmetry program and achieved Bronze Accreditation,” Cr Chanthivong said.

“The Macarthur Sustainable Business Award would not have been possible without the support of the University of Western Sydney. This support is much appreciated and underlines the importance of working together to address the issue of sustainability in the region.”
